Harbor freight has the clones on sale for $125 or $129..
then there is THIS coupon for 20% off. I asked if you could use the coupon on a sale item. They said no problem.

I would buy a clone motor,
but I don't like the price of the billet rods or the performance camshafts.

Seams to me that Briggs 5HP is still the best bang for the buck.

I remember when Billet Rods for the Brigggs 5HP were $100 new.... I guess the price doesn't go down until they sell enough of them to pay for all the CNC Machines used to make them.

To bad HF didn't sell Billet Rods and Race Camshafts.

I bit the bullet and went back and got one. it was $112 out the door.
Got it home, pulled out the old motor from the MTD and dropped in the clone. I had to take off the muffler because it wouldnt fit. I'll weld up a new one tomorrow and light-er-up.:scooter:

if you think $59.00 is too much well it is alot cheaper than a new motor ! a $100.00 clone with more power than a briggs (new ) is the best bang for the buck !
