Heald Clean Up

#1
My VT3 got real dirty last year at Windber :doah: So I thought I should tear it down and clean it up with some new tires and a fresh coat of paint  I got it all torn down yesterday and hope to start the cleaning today

The mud was so thick under the fenders I had to use a wire brush to clean it off :doah:

Man that's nice, I really love the look of the Healds. I have a VT-3 myself. Little more than a frame with wheels and dry rotted tires. It's my next project and I can hardly wait to ride it.

Nice!

Randy. You will be really happy with the tires when you get them on. You can lay it over good in the corners and it will not slide out on you. Test rode the black one Saturday and was really impressed with the tires and motor.

Thanks everyone  Brian, yes you do know the tires  Rick, I'm sure I'll be happy with them  the turf tires are just too square and make the bike handle funny :doah: David, I have only rode the bike once since Windber last year, I did wash my trike right after we got home last year but the VT didn't get the same love  Tom, you helped me fix the brakes the very next day after "YOU" broke them at Windber 2013 :doah:

I didn't get anything done on it yesterday :doah: I hope to get the old tires dismounted tomorrow  It has been in the upper 80's here the last few days, I even put in and have been using the AC since Friday :eek:ut: I did get the new keyless entry door knob that my step son bought for Mama installed this evening

OK, for those of us not in the know, what tires are they? Do they come in VT-10 size?

OK, the knobbies. I thought there was a different pattern as I believe it had been stated the knobbies can slide out on you. I have no experience, yet, so I can't say.

Thanks,
Paul

They can get a little funky on pavement. There isn't much meat actually touching. I haven't had one kick out on regular dirt/grass but they are a different feel just due to the size.

I got all my small parts and fenders sand blasted  Now I'm hoping for some rain tomorrow to knock some of this crap out of the air so I can paint on Sunday
