Got mine!
I've still got my 1970 Christmas present, a Bonanza Mini Chopper CR400 Scout. True, it sat in my parents garage for 35 years till a couple years ago I rescued it. I broke it down and put it in a big box and sent it to my new home in California. It's pretty original, the HS-40 still has the STP stickers on it and the dealer sticker from New London County Harley Davidson where my dad bought it. I'm even running on the original tires. OK, so it has new tubes, new fuel line, but still has the original (flushed out) steel tecumseh tank. Ok, so I did have to re-chrome the front forks, and I sanded and repainted the frame in bright orange to make it look good. The seat and the chrome sissy bar cleaned up well and I replaced the clutch, brake cable, and throttle, rebuilt the carb, and gave it new points and tune up to make it rideable... My kids like it, I think, but certainly not loik I do. Some things just aren't the same now.... Next I want to restore a 1979 Trans Am like I had after the mini bike!
