Justin, There a whole bunch of threads on this site that talk about the various tank sealers and KBS is one of those discussed. Use the "SEARCH" feature at the top of the page. Ogy

As I mentioned , I did search, and was unable to find anything. I'm assuming there is a member here named KBS, because when I searched, I was unable to find anything relevant to the tank coating, only KBS mentioned randomly in a bunch of threads....? When I searched KBS in "Title only" mode, it gave me the "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." Same thing when I searched for "tank coating" and "tank sealer".

Is there another name for tank coating, or something else I should be searching for? Not trying to sound like a smartass (which I do a lot of the time, haha), I just honestly couldn't find anything, which is why I started this thread.

I have used most of the kits available on the market.
Pour 15 , Caswell , KBS , Kreem.
They have all worked well for me with the Kreem kit being the latest one I have used.

The most important thing with any of these coatings is the prep work you do to your tank before you use it.
Do not rely on the kits cleaning system to do it all , use the loose screw method to remove rust and wash completly the Kreem kit uses an acid etching (phosporic acid I think) . I have used muriatic acid to preclean as well .
Jb weld can be used to patch holes to keep the sealant from leaking out and sanded down later.
I have heard complaints about all of thease kits but I bet the user didnt get the tank clean enough before hand or didnt follow the directions properly.
It will end up costing close to $100 to properly repair and coat a tank , so you have to decide is it worth fixing or replaceing ?

Just been my experience.

There are a ton of videos on you tube to watch too.

Are you sure that the rust is so bad that no amount of 'normal' cleaning will prevent a large amount of rust flakes to quickly plug the fuel filter? You must run a filter even if it is a new and perfect tank so my position is that spending loot for Kreem [or some other stuff] is too often an attempt to fix a problem that does not exist.

To be honest, I don't know. The bike has been sitting for roughly 30 years without fuel in it. When I looked inside I see what looks like mostly surface rust. I guess there aren't any real "flakes" in there. I have only rinsed it out so far. I was going to soak it with Evaporust, but was told it can flash rust after doing this if you dont coat it. This is my first restore, so everything I am going on so far is what I have been told. I will try to grab some pictures of the inside and post them up. Thanks for all the input.
