Lil Indian frame holes

As I look at many lil indian frames I notice the two small holes in the top frame rails close to the neck. Mine has these too. At first I thought maybe someone was going to create a fork stop or something but now realize they came that way. Anyone know what they are for?? Thanks.

I looked at my Lil Indian today Bobbb and It has two holes on the top of the frame maybe about 6 inches back from the neck. Don't know what they are for. I'll take some pics today.

I have 4 early frames here and none have these holes. What you guys smokin?

I've got a variety as well and none of mine had them.

I've seen them many times online, and they ALL appear exactly the same. Still no idea why.

They may have been vents for the tube while welding. Some builders will do that to keep the welds from opening up due to increased pressure from the heat ...just speculating!

A welder friend of mine guessed the exact same thing.
