Well I got the carby and adaptor springs and gaskets in the mail got er buttoned up just need to get oil and other small stuff and air filter tomorrow then ill be mini biking the rest of the summer!

I really liked the valve cover gasket, it was cork instead of crappy rubbery sillicone that always distorts.

I have reused cork before, it is still good as long as it has not become torn or over compressed, the silicone ones distort too much and tear easy they really are about as good as the other, I just like cork because it seals well i hate leaks but its nothing a little tube of plumbers goop wont fix

ha ha

well i got all the little hardware i needed to mount the beast on the frame and fire it up and i revd it and saw a spark and a click click click, killed it then removed the shroud and low and behold the magnet came loose good thing it has a screw keeping it from falling off the flywheel!

I read a post just last night where someone had the same problem and they said they used jb weld so I figure if its good enough to fix theirs its good enough to fix mine

cant wait to ride it with all the goodies on it

next engine i get if I have any problems with the flywheel im going to find a billet one or at leas oem honda!

the damn intake port cracked too but didn't seem to harm the manifold just put 2 small nicks in the aluminum, all in all im pretty lucky just the engine broke and the carb and goodies r all fine, I did destroy my real honda shroud that i had though LOL

I am glad I had the honda shroud on it and not the thin chinese one that is thinner metal too.

I didn't take pics of the flywheel chunks but it had 3 big ones and a small one that broke off one of the 1/3 chunks and the flywheel was made of extra crappy porous metal!

All the horror stories I've heard about flywheels coming apart have been when the engine was Free revved to rediculous rpm's and not under a load which is what sounds like happened here, well at least the initial damage, after that it was just a matter of time..... Sorry to hear that this happened, just be thankful you didn't recieve any shrapnal in your leg or in the :asshole:

Hey next time pick up a cheap real GX200 or GX160 flywheel. Also always tighten those coil mounting screws once your turning the motor up everything needs double checking.

9 times out of 10 the coil loosens up and slides down and the magnet comes around and blam. The magneto is only torque to factory spec's and is never intended to encounter the vibration, or RPM it is now turning.

IM going to install locktite on the coil, I think the coil did come loose and it had a nice domino effect. I got a harbor frieght lifan clone branded greyhound with the L shaped tank just got done removing the gov and man the valve rockers sure look flimsy, so i took the assembly off my champion and put it in, glad the parts interchange.

I also used a 20% coupon and bought the 2 year warranty. if it blows up im going to strip off the goodies slap on the stock parts and get a new one no questions asked heh heh.

the guys in harbor freight are so cool they said they don't care if you mod it because it costs them more to pay someone to look at it than to just throw it away. get the coupon and buy the warranty its worth it.

You can always take the one you blew up back to HF and exchange it with stock parts back in it. Tell them the damn Flywheel came apart. You will be able to get a new one atleast.
