Picked up a 2nd Heathkit Hilltopper ...

#1
It was about 100 miles away ...

Coming back into Michigan from Indiana ...

It had no gas in the tank, hadn't been started in a couple years and had flat tires.
Had good compression, the owner said it had run before. I rolled the dice and bought it.
Aired up the tires, gassed up the tank, choked and pulled, nada. Pulled the plug, spark is good.
Grabbed the starting fluid and got 1 pop out of it. reached under the carb for the needle and found the whole carb was loose.
Tightened it up, and with a little coaxing she sprang to life! Tho the headlight bulb is likely burned out the tail light lit right up so I know the lighting coil is good.
I did an easy up and down the road and tho the carb needs cleaning (no surprise) it performed as advertised.

Here she is (on the left) hanging out with her sister.

Thanks for the support!
The new one doesn't have a title like her sister but that's ok.
They are both roughly in the same condition +/- little things.

Yes I have ridden a few different minis and the Hilltoppers do it all and do it comfortably.
Weather your flying across a bumpy field, climbing a hill at low speed, just cruising surface streets or using the brakes (front and rear) it works like a Cadillac and it fits an adult.
I know Yoop also has one that he wont sell! Maybe he will chime in why!
