Predator/Clone 208 Build

#1
I've had this engine for a couple of years now and it's time to do something with it. Nothing like a full blown race engine , just a low end to mid range power engine. Also it will be a pull start engine .
Here's what it looks like from the factory.

No fuel cut off lever ^^^^ only the choke.

Notice the valve cover shape.

Crankshaft has to go or be turned down to a 3/4'' shaft .

No low oil sensor inside or out .

Huayi carb , still probably a .615 venturi , but I'll measure if I decide to use it .

Head numbers .

27mm intake valve and a 25mm exhaust valve ...looks like about a 22cc chamber.

Side shot of the engine and the carb, no fuel shut off valve.

Interesting rockers. I'm surprised the valves are so big from factory. They should be perfect.
Yea rockers are totally different from what I'm use to seeing in a clone/predator engine, and was kinda surprised that the valves were this size . Not sure yet if I'll use this head though ...but we'll see.

Interested in seeing where you go with this build.
Probably just going to pump it up a little . I've got some parts coming all ready and will post them when they come in.

Looks like the good folks at ARC Racing does make a rod for this engine . I'm a little surprised with the crank / rod journal being a 1.180 and the wrist pin being a .715 . But still good to know that they have it if needed.

See if a clone crank will fit, that is much easier than getting that crank machined and key slotted.
JMO Danford1
Clone crank will fit in the block and bearings Dan , thinking about going with that option. Waiting on a piston to come in now.

Hey E! Like Danford said, a clone crank may be a better ooption for you

we have the rod too

on a side note, does that stock crank have a GX200/Clone taper on the flywheel side? OND
Thanks Eric , and yea I will buy the rod from the OldMiniBikes warehouse and maybe a crank to , waiting on a piston to come in .
I checked OldMiniBikes warehouse first for the piston and it showed to be out of stock. ( I tried )
I will check the taper on the OEM shaft this weekend and let you know . I know the camshaft is going to be for a Predator and not the Clone/Hemi engines. Side journals on cam measure .556

Here is the piston I'm going to use on this build, it came in today. Hemi head flat top with two .050 deep valve reliefs ...stock diameter piston. Now I can get some measurements for a crank shaft and billet rod .

Using the new piston and a max stroke clone crank (measures 2.129)I had on hand I was able to measure out the piston in the hole and ended up with .046.
I'll order a .020 over size ARC clone rod this week , that will leave me .026 in the hole. Will also order a .010 Predator head gasket to .

Got three heads on hand and not sure which one I'll use yet...Hemi head, 208 head and a 14cc GX160 head.

I Love my Mail Lady ! More parts came in from the OldMiniBikes Warehouse today , Thanks Guys ! I love the "FREE" shipping. OK on with the new parts .

ARC Billet rod #6271 Honda/Clone 3.323 in length...or .020 longer than the stock clone rod of 3.303. Wrist pin measures .709.

Dyno Cam CM grind 265/265 lift cut on a Predator core .

22# Springs from the OldMiniBikes Warehouse . Still might go bigger on the springs yet , but Dyno cams recommend these springs for this cam.
