Super Bronc help

#1
Hey guys. I'm new here. I just entered into the following and obsession of Tote Gotes and Super Broncs. I purchased my first Tote gote and Super Bronc this summer. Both have been riding well until my belt tore up on my Super Bronc. I believe that I have a Super Bronc VT10. The motor is a Tecumseh HM-100. I have spoken to Ron Kimball and he sent me the new belt; however, when I replaced the belt, the rear tire spins when I attempt to start the bike and I can no longer push the bike around in neutral because it seems like it is stuck in gear. I have spoken to Ron and we have tried troubleshooting it but I am not having any luck.

I am hoping that by posting pictures and chatting with you guys I can figure this out. It seems like the belt is too wide but from everything I have read and discussed with Ron it seems to be the correct belt.

I have checked the driver and it appears to be working correctly. I noticed that their are some washers that have been placed between the clutch and the engine and I have removed a few of them at a time to see if it would help but so far no luck. I appreciate any help as this is all new to me.

The belt was on the right way. At least it is in the pic. But it looks like the driver and driver arent running true to each other. Is something bent or are the bearings really loose on the driven shaft?

It appears in the 1st picture that the driver is not aligned with the driven . It appears the motor is shifted to left . Put a straight edge between the clutches and see if it is true . Make sure the bolts are tight on the jackshaft bracket on the motor and motor mount bolts .

Thanks guys. The belt was placed on correctly. I've placed a straight edge on the driver and driven and also shimmed it out more/less with washers but I think something is bent or offset. I will check the bolts on the jackshaft bracket and motor mount bolts, along with the bearings in the driven.

I appreciate the help. A lot of this mechanic stuff is new to me. Unfortunately, I' at work for the rest of the week into the weekend and will not get to it until Monday of next week. Thanks again.

It is no wonder the old belt wore out and broke. In the one photo it looks like the driven shaft is probably just flopping around in there, if that is the case there is zero chance of squaring the inside side plates of the driver and driven sheave to each other. You just need to take the whole converter apart, replace any worn parts, clean, lube, and reinstall.
Also make sure the engine idle speed is low enough.

Tomorrow or Tuesday I will mess with it and give Ron a call. Thanks for the help. I hope to get this back up and running again Bronc2.JPG before the snow falls!
