Breaks my heart to find a new home for this bike. Bought the 500 roller from Karl and decided to do something different for the engine, since the bike originally came as a kit with no engine. West Bend won out. I was referred to Frank Moore who built the 580 5 port. Frank ran and tested it...
Need help I recently mildly port and polished my friends 97cc engine and when we got it running again the low end power and ruined and you can barely move. I adjusted the carb and checked the spark plug so the engine is running at the right AFRs but that only made it a little better. We noticed...

Like the ad says I have a black mamba Jr cam I'm willing to trade for a gx160 head that has been ported and polished to flow better. I Wil also trade for a gx200 head that has been milled .050 . If anyone is knowledgeable in this area and wants to give his opinion of which is better, the decked...
iv read a lot of threads where people use epoxies to re shape ports for better flow but wouldn't welding the port then grinding it to the correct shape be a better way of accomplishing this? the biggest issue I could se would be the heat warping the block and port or damaging the lifters and...
I'm looking for something that goes straight out the exhaust port. Not sure if the exhaust would be the same on the 212 cc engines or something else. The picture below is the port on the engine and the drawing is approximate. Note the exhaust port is offset to the rear of the motor or towards...

The Gx and clone head has a very poor port design so any porting is an improvement, distribution to the centre of the cylinder is poor so a swirl port design can nicely overcome this...

Went to tighten down the exhaust pipe on my 6.5 Clone. It's got studs that screw into the block, and then nuts screw onto the studs.
WELL....i went to tighten the nut onto the stud, and stripped the threads on the stud?? :cursing:
Anyone know what size bolt/thread and pitch the...

I've never even seen one, I don't think. I guess the very first HS50's had them when they still used the older style blower housing. I think that would be the give away as to the port.
My question is, I wonder if they had the small exhaust port like a HS40? I've been told the intake port is the...
Does any body know the diameter, thread, and length of the bolts used to secure the exhaust pipe flange to the head? Also, any advantage/disadvantage to using typical "hex" head vs. "allen" head bolts in this application?
Thank you:scooter:
I bought a 3hp Briggs motor a few months back for $12.50, the exhasut port threads that you screw the muffler into where mildly worn allowing the muffler to loosen up while running the engine. I tried a jam nut in the end of the muffler but it still won`t work. This brings me to my question...
Forgive me if this is known/been posted before, but it covered a lot of the questions people ask about what gains the most power.
I did not write this, I just found it when Googling.
I posted in general engine mods as it applies to all engines, not just Briggs.
Hope this helps some people...
