After the test drives I ended up taking it all apart and adding a jackshaft the original ratio was 3 to 1 from engine to differential , it worked but was to fast
With the jackshaft it now has a 7.8 to 1 reduction going into the diff , it seems to work much better

It is a stock Doodlebug 2.8 hp engine and clutch , there is no brakes on it but because the final drive is a worm gear it stops fairly good as soon as power is removed
