Just got it back from powder coat. started to work on axle set up. Decided to go with a straight axle with this one. ( Circle Track only ) Keeping band brakes (dont need brakes) Only for looks.

Looks good. Don't forget your idler puller to take up that chain slack. Is there enough room to put the differential in the middle and swap it out with pins and couplers? To go from straight axle to differential?

Looks like if you move the drums to the far ends and make a differential piece, you could unbolt the two inside bearings and attach the outside axles to the axles that would stick out of the differential housing with a coupler held onto each axle with pins. Or at least be able to swap out axle gears for different types of racing.

You might like the skate option for the front wheel and ice riding... Lol

Way back in 1973 We raced our Trikes at a flat track called Trojan Speedway it was a clay track only 1/5 of a mile they called it a Bull ring.
I built a very light live axle frame made from 1 inch Chrome Molly Tubing the Trike was rigid and didn't even have padding in the seat. The driver was Wayne Coppers and at about 150 pounds of pure mussel and a natural racer we used the Mc Culloch 101 engine with dual carbs on Alky this came off his RTS Tri-Sport but we used a Berko slipper wet clutch . The frame set about 4 inches off the track and with speedway style starting if Wayne made it to the corner first the game was over he would win. We won quite a few races, and one night we went out to another track called Indian Dunes and raced on the mini bike track, Well Wayne went to pass a another driver and the out side wheel holed a small tree and bent the axle and that ended the life of the 60 lb trike.

Started to mock up engine. Had to make a spacer plate with the mill. Had to tilt carb back and change the angle due to the slanted engine plate.
