your engine was 3 days younger than the one on my roadster I recently did, its "born on" was 0156 and the bike was assembled within a week of that day, they were moving fast as tecumseh could spit them out! If you end up taking the driver off the crankshaft I would be curious to know if there is a large hole oil seal (ball bearing sidecover) or just a standard crank.

maybe you'll get lucky on the sprocket/jackshaft and just maybe only have to use the next size up roll pin than stock

I'll see what happens when I get the tires off.
Then I can soak them. I got most of the rough stuff off the rims. Might be salvageable.

The rest of the stuff that I have been soaking since 9am yesterday came out FANTASTIC!!! Oh MY.....

These were sprayed off, washed with Dawn, and dried off. No polish yet.
I am sold on the acid bath. No more expensive Evaporust for me!!

careful with the wheels, you may not like the results on the hubs in the acid.

Thanks for the heads up Marcus. May be able to just have the rims themselves setting in the solution.

You didn't say how nice and shiney the other stuff came out.

Oxalic Acid. Sorry, should have mentioned it.
I am beyond pleased with how this stuff works.
I have seen others mention it on this forum. Figured I'd give it a shot. Very pleased.
Compared to this. I'll take it.

Actually thinking about trying to use some black chrome treatment. Or would that make it look worse?

Karen, I figured that pail was about 2gals. So I used two lid cap fulls from a can of PB Blaster. Figured that was close to 1/4 cup or so.

I did nothing but let them soak. No scrubbing or nothing until I removed these parts this morning.
Cleaned with Dawn and wiped off.

The real recipe is 1/8 cup per gallon of water.

The container I used was a old cat litter container. But the videos I saw, folks were using those big platic storage tubs.

I got mine from ebay but, you can buy it as "Wood Bleach".
I got about what looks like, from what I remember, a kilo for 6 bucks or so shipped.
I am sold.

The cat liter box is a excellent idea. I actually have one in the trash right now. Trash pick time:laugh::laugh: I bought that acid from ebay also. I just didn't know the mixture. Thank you:thumbsup:
