found this extremely rare mcculloch 399 cc twin cylinder balanced piston engine. 17000 rpm and 30 stock hp.
there are now five known to exist. this one was out of box but nos. it was used as a door stop. id like to put it in a kart but has a snowmobile crank, maybe a snowmobile clutch and jackshaft setup? anyone know of a tapered sprocket for the crank?

Hi James : Great find and the first thing I would begin to look for is a started that beast will wear your arms out. As for a drive system you will get the most out of that engine using a Torque Converter like a Comet 108 4Pro system.

Interesting, the opposed piston in that engine looks to function almost like a supercharger. And check that 300 degrees of exhaust port timing! Wow. Steve knows something, his advice on getting an electric start sounds like the voice of experience. Great find!

Ok I'm a bit confused here. Its essentially a 3 cylinder but the bottom isnt a firing cylinder. Its just used to help fill and scavenge the crank area?

Oops no apparently there is a balance piston on each cylinder. Lots of extra moving parts. They get a supercharge/expansion chamber effect without a pipe.
