zombiewoof needed a Trail Horse Sissy Bar.

I took on the task, :grind:

Straightened out a Banana Bicycle Sissy and cut off the ends.

Added solid Aluminum rod for strength in the lower bends.

Drilled holes near the top for the cross bars and the rear seat holes.

This bar may be to long at the base, so I have left it for him to cut as needed and drill the other two holes. :hack:

Then I put in the bend at the top as required, it may need more bend. :confused1:

Yet to be discussed..

Made my own cross studs from 3/16" Stainless rod and then threaded them on each end.

Cut 1/2" Stainless tubing for cross rods, fish mouthed the ends and polished.

Installed stainless nuts and star lock washers.

Only Downfall; The two holes where the banana seat would have been mounted on a Bicycle.

The reason why a third cross rod was installed.

:sailor:

Please note; This is the Sissy for the TOP mini bike pictured.

Glad I could help out

At first I did this bar as the Bottem mini bike pictured.

Less bend at the top and only one cross bar.

Base should of had less of a bend but, I was building the top bar.

Here it is with the 1/2" tubing installed.

That is beautiful !

I did not realize you could bend chromed metal without distorting the chrome finish ? What sort of a bending tool / machine are you using ? And do you have to use heat as well ?

Thank you .

Vintage chrome is far better, than new chrome. I do not use heat.

All tho, a little heat would help when it comes to bending a chrome bar.

Sometime ago I bent a new chrome bar and the chrome peeled off where it was bent.

My bender is nothing fancy. It is a converted reed bar bender.

It came with a 1/2" pully to bend with. I had a 5/8 pully made for it.

Do your research, don't just buy any bender.

I had to learn how to use this bender and wrecked more than a few bars before I got it right and I'm still learning.:grind:

P.s. Thanks RobertC for the

My goal is to get OR make a Hydraulic tubing bender.

Then I could bend thicker tubing. Giving me ability to bend Handel bars and Forks. Also make bending sissy bars easier.

Now that would be awesome.

Size of slide block's

Size of Round die's

Radius and diameter are Important

Manual OR Hydraulic tubing bender

all can be very costly.

Also, I have learned, some styles of benders are not gental and mar or mark the tubing.
Making more work for you, needing to sand & smooth out the marks for chroming or polishing.

Nylon slides help alot with this.

Thanks again LS,

Trail-Horse Owners, I could use your help !

I built this Sissy bar for zombiewoof, blind..

We guessed at the dementions, We feel it is real close.

However, I would like to know the Measurements of both bars.

I feel they are the same length, its just the degree of the lower bend.

Plus main parts of the bar, would like to see how close I am?

Your input is more than Welcome, Thank in advance.
