What was your first mini bike?

A very rough stella with a 5 horse briggs! I traded a free radio controlled car for it! It barely ran, leaky carb caught fire multiple times. but still i was hooked, been a gear head since!

I owned (for about a week) a red Bird duck (didn't know that then) in the december of 2006. I sold it to my cousin and helped him find out what is was, then I bought a DB in december of 2007.

Steens Frijole in 1970 that I bought with paper route money. Had a crank start 3HP Briggs off of a riding lawnmover. My cousin had a Hiawatha Doodlebug and a friend had a Lil Indian. Fun times!

Rupp Black widow. I got it used in 1977. I could have got a Delorto carb for more dough or should I say :doah:, but passed on it. Where is it now? I have no idea. Mini bikes were no big deal to me between the years 1980 and 2005. I think I took it apart, then later sold it to a friend for $50. He complained a day or two later and wanted his money back. That's all I remember.

First one was a Bonanza BC1300 with an HS50, I found a ditched brand new monkey wards by Bird after we moved to the city. It was stashed in an abandon house and I pushed it home, the gas cap and twist grip were missing. My Dad made me turn it in, the cops said if nobody claimed it in 30 days it was mine. I drove the lady at the property room nuts calling every day asking if it had been claimed. I ended up with it and fixed it for my friends to ride, Mine was too fast for many of em. That 1300 would scoot with a narrow ass kid on it! I'd love to have another one but no luck finding the perfect project but I'm still looking. I now have twelve machines but still no 1300!

Unfortunately I never knew what brand I had as a kid. But the first mini bike I bought a few years ago was a 1966 taco 44. Then a Bonanza 1300. After that they multiplied like rabbits.

Mine was a "homemade" bike that I made as my junior high school metal shop project way back in 1966. Dad gave me an old Briggs and Stratton 2HP engine off a lawn mower (no "recoil" pull-start on that old motor- you physically wrapped the starter rope around the flywheel cup!). All of my close friends had mini-bikes (one even had a tote-gote) and All of our time was spent working on those bikes- fun times!:scooter:

Back in 1969

A 69 Honda Z50 I bought from a friend of mine. I put every piece of speed equipment I could get my hand's on on that bike. It would still only do 40mph, probably a good thing!

I didnt know what it was till years later, i had a manco trailcat. It was a roller when i got it and i bought the 6.5 briggs motor from a friend for 20 dollars. The roller was a old girlfriends she gave it to me free. I added the wheelie bars after a buddy went ass over end and broke the exhaust and fender. It was did about 40 and got there in a hurry.

Hey Greg, That's the bike that started all the Minibike Madness for you.

My first was the Trail 70 I got in 03, and then the Rupp Enduro. I always wanted a minibike when I was a kid and wasn't allowed to have one, until I was 18. So I went out and got a 3 wheeler and moved on to bigger dirt bikes and four wheelers.
