Gas Tank doesnt clear frame HELP!!

I have this tru test minibike and i just got a original tank for it as im re building it and the tank on it was a aftermarket plastic fugly thing, i have one problem.. the cap for tank doesnt clear the frame and is hard up against it what are the ways around/ to fixing this?? i dont reallly wanna have to bend the frame.. :/

I guess that explains the old bend in my frame... He must have tested the original tank already :laugh:

Can you run a remote tank?

They also make that tank in a corner fill if a remote tank isn't an option. That should clear fine as well.

Just checked eBay using "Honda GX160 Tank" and found no corner fill tanks ... bummer.
Cut and re-weld may be the way to go ...

You have to look for the gx200 clone tanks. I believe the Hondas were all center fill.

I have a tank that can be used remotely but Buckeye said that's not an option ... If its not then OND seems to have what I need ..

Can I run remote on a GX160?

My bike is a New Zealand made Tru-Test made back in the 70's the stopped making them after a couple of years i think these days they are very hard to come by

The tank he has has a low profile chromed flat cap on it, not the bigger plastic one :thumbsup:

I think I have a corner fill tank off of an blue Clone (Greyhound motor from HF 196cc). Will that help?
