The flea is ready to be picked up from the powdercoaters. Going to pick it up tomorrow morning. Should be assembling it during the up coming week.

Just picked up the Flea from the powdercoater. This color is much nicer then I had hoped. Has just a little metalic flake in it. It's called Ruby Red Pearl.

I made a trade with Ray, TUBBUGS, and he blasted the wheels and brake assembly for me. Thanks again Ray. They turned out nicer then anticipated too.

I hope to have it mostly assembled by the end of this weekend.

Thanks guys!!

Made some progress today. Unfortunately it took all afternoon. One thing after another with this bike:doah:

Who ever had it before me, or at some point in it's lifetime, the rear wheel was flipped around to run the sprocket on the same side as the clutch. Someone relocated the mounting tab on the brake hub 180 degrees. Of course, I didn't realize it until I was putting the rear wheel together. Needless to say, I had to cut off the tab, and put it back where it should be.

Tomorrow I'll work on getting the engine mounted, the brakes hooked up and the jackshaft working. I'm sure there'll be issues with something and I'll spend the whole day in my work room.

Made a little more progress tonite. I hooked up the brakes and put the jackshaft assembly together. Still have some lining up to do on the chain from the engine to the jackshaft sprocket. I'm using stainless steel chain. It's industrial strength but we'll see just how it holds up on this type of application.:scooter:

Hopefully I'll wrap it up this weekend.

Thanks for the compliments.

I had hoped to find a nice vintage 4hp tec at the show last weekend but didn't have any luck. So for now I'll put the newer 5hp Tec that was on it when I got it. The engine runs good, just not the right age for the bike. I think this would have had a Continental engine on it from the factory. But that's out of the question.

That is a really nice ride.
How do you choose which bike to ride??
Thanks buck.... buck..... buckeye..... it pains me to say that name.... Go Blue!

If I rode one a day it would take me 4 months, 1 week and 2 days to get thru them all.

Had the day off work today, so I decided to get this Flea finished.

Swapped out the square splastic tank on the 5hp Tec for an older style one. Used a chain guard that I got from Motor City Minis and put a new Comet CSC 400 series clutch on it.

I think I it turned our pretty nice. Considering the condition it was in when I got it.

The only things left to do it hook up a kill switch, put a chrome gas cap on the tank and put some gas in it and take her for a spin.:scooter:
