What Are The Most Valuable And Desirable Mini's ?

You have proposed a very unique question here that may start a debate. If I were to answer that question, with another question and I will. It will make things more peacefull around these parts.

I would ask two people whom, I have the deepest respect for. Yes, I do have some respect left inside for those smarter than myself and more of a vintage mini bike expert with vast knowledge.

The two people I would ask; are JimH and GTO. They both have proven to me that they know their mini bikes more than most.

Three of my favorites are;

1. 1947 Hyawatha Doodlebug.
2. Flexo Big Bear Scrambler.
3. Taco without the bottom bar.
I do not know the model. However, the motor is suspended and not on a plate.

These are mini motorcycles that may or may not count?

1. Bonanza Hodaka Ace 100.
2. Rupp series mini bike.
3. Yamaha JT1 mini enduro.
4. Honda 50 mini trail.

If I had to pick one, just one it would be the 1947 Hyawatha Doodlebug as Number 1, Holy Grail investment piece.

Have fun with this thread, I insist...

TT Out~ :stuart:

Indian Mini Bikes

I was watching the show Pawn Stars last night and on the show was an Indian Mini Bike. It turns out I have one sitting in my barn and I didnt know it until my husband said we have one of those. I went and looked at it and it is in good condition. Does anyone know anything about these bikes. I would like to know as much about these as possible including how much this bike might be worth and if there are any collectors who might be interested in this. Thanks.

There are collectors that would be interested in the bike.
As far as what they are worth? I don't know but would guess in decent shape 800.00
Pretty much every one here agrees that the Pawn Stars are out to lunch on the bike.

If I had one to sell right now it would be on ebay looking for a sucker that watched that show.

Here is a link to a thread about the Pawn star bike. http://www.oldminibikes.com/forum/general-minibike-talk/24255-1500-pos-indian.html

Well Indian made different models of small bikes the MM5A Mini Mini was the smallest and then they made the Junior Cross in two types one a automatic and the other a 4 speed. and still used the 50CC engine. what we need is pictures of the bike and show the bike on both sides and the closer shots that show the bike work best. I was a dealer for Indian in 1972,3 &4

I had a Hodaka Ace 100 growing up. A neighbor just gave it to me, it had seen some use. I rode it like I had stolen it for about 5 months, when it broke, I just chucked it.:doah: It was a good looking little bike, and dang fast.

I actually know a guy who has a Hyawatha Doodlebug in his garage. Get this : he paid $20 for it at a garage sale.Well he is not as stupid as the person who sold it to him , so I know it will cost me my left nut to buy it .....:sadcrying4:

I think the holy grail of all minibikes is the

There is a NICE ORIGINAL COMPLETE one of that Roper mini bike on CL in mid michigan.. They have been trying forever to get 300 bucks for that looks near perfect.. I've seen a few of these ones on Evilbay and they rarely go much over 300 bucks. I did see one with factory Harley Davidson emblems that would be cool to have.. But the HIGH DOLLAR question is pretty hard to answer. I don't know about RARE and HOLY GRAIL of mini bikes BUT the Cushmans DO ALWAYS sell for way more than they are worth. A nice Eagle might bring 6 or 7 THOUSAND dollars sometimes and fairly often.. Now that's just dumb.. :doah: About the most I've ever seen people spend on a mini bike was on Cushman Eagles.. I would try to find an E Code Hodaka Bonanza Chopper. You can find a NICE one of those at a STEAL for maybe $2,500 if you look reeeeeal hard. Those OLD Hiawatha Doodle bugs are pretty pricey too. Not into the multi thousands though I don't think.

I know I am no expert but I know what I like. The Fox Campus is the Holy Grail of bikes to me. I remember seeing one of them sold on e-bay for tons of money. However, to me the most expensive bike is not necessarily the best bike. For me HANDS DOWN the Fox Campus is the most desireable bike to own.

MY Baja Doddle Bug is.. Why cause I would not trade it for any of these trailer queens. I like riding my bike and doing with it what I like Not have somebody complain about it. And I would not sell it for what most of these older $$$ bike's go for. So there thats my 2 pennies worth. HAHA:thefinger:
