you may have to hunt down and buy old frames just for parts. I had to do that. 1 frame for a back wheel 1 for a driven, and a wing nut 1 for a seat bracket, front forks and chain adjuster. I had threw out 4 chopped up frames and barely got enough parts for one bike. You might get lucky and pick up a throttle. Good luck

Also got the 28" throttle cable, but sense ordering that, I found someone saying you can use the original throttle cable, but just hard solder a piece of .125'' copper tubing at the end to fit into the slide of the carb...
Hi Ted - The 60 tooth sprocket from GPS installed easily and has greatly improved the bike's off the line pulling power. I went ahead and ordered the "Fatty" exhaust from GoKartsUSA,along with an inverted Mikuni intake manifold. I have 170,175 and 180 main jets to try out. I'm about to order that Frisco Peanut 1.8 gal tank, but with the screw-in cap-seems like it would be more sturdy than the old style bayonet -

Glad that the 60 tooth worked for you. With my 50 tooth, I have to be careful that I don't launch the bike from a start.
I'm considering a tank (the fresco bobber tank in high or mid) from Billet Proof Designs-its 17.25 long with tabs, and 13.25 long (just the tank...I'll be removing the fake gas tank this weekend and marking it up to verify the new real gas tank works...Im hoping it will clear the bulkhead on the handlebars. Ever heard of a coating called Kreem for the inside of the gas tank?
What company did you get your cable and thumb throttle from?...and are you happy with it? I'm still searching for a header pipe and muffler- I'm considering eliminating the back fender and putting one of those center and high pipes with muffler-IDK. Kinda disappointed in hearing that the idol/pilot screw kept backing out...but glad a couple washers keeps it in place...

I got my Mikuni throttle cable from GoPowerSports. I'm not happy with the cable. I've adjusted all adjusters and I still have approximately 7/8" of slop/free play in the throttle grip. I'm either going to shorten cable and make a new ball end for it or buy a new throttle assembly. Outside length of the cable is fine, inside length is the issue, approximately 7/8: to long.

You might want to try hotrodminibike.com for header and muffler or OMBWarehouse.com. Washers didn't work for the idle screw. I ended up cutting a piece of rubber fuel line and fitting that between the carb body and the spring/screw. Approximately 1/8" of rubber fuel line worked perfectly. Now, idle holds fine.

Hi Ted- Just read your posts on the TM after you installed the Mikuni...did the Mikuni come with a 17.5 pilot jet? I just ordered one myself, and it is coming with a 30 pilot and 100 main...I believe I'm going to go with an inverted intake-which it is recommended to change the main out to a 170-190 jet.
Seems like a throttle cable of about 25-30 inches would be long enough-what did you go with?

Hi - the Mikuni cable that I ordered was 55". My Mikuni carb came with 30 pilot and 100 main jet. I'm currently running a 17.5 pilot jet and a 135 main jet. I'm going to try a 20 pilot jet, which I think will work. I'm also going to try a 130 main jet. A friend of mine is running a 190 main jet on his inverted intake setup.
RICK, JUST WANT TO LET YOU KNOW, THE REAR AXLE I GOT FROM YOU THE STUD WELDS ARE NOT VERY GOOD, THREE OF THE FOUR BROKE OFF. MIGHT WANT TO WELD THEM A LITTLE MORE, PENETRATION WAS ALMOST NONE. JUST WANT TO AVOID ISSUES WITH ANYONE ELSE. I FIXED THE ISSUE ON MINE BUT WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW. THANKS... SEE YOU IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS.
Can I ask where you got those chevron tread atv style tires in the back ground of your pictures? I've been window shopping for some and haven't been able to find them.
Hi Steve, do you still have the bike made in Lakeview MI or even some photos ? I have a friend working on the history of MI made bikes he is looking for more info on the bikes and photos. Thanks Cliff

Hi Cliff.
I don't have any photos of that bike and really never had much info on it either. Sorry I couldn't help you out.
Steve
I have this exact model, very interested in driven clutch diameter, belt size and any info. Nice Sherpa, also how did you fit that motor?
Just hope after the mods and stuff the reliability does not disappear...

I haven't really run into any reliability issues. Cold, my engine may take 4 pulls to start. When warm, usually starts on first pull. PM sent.
Seems like one thing all three of these engines have in common is they start on the first pull when cold or hot. Funny think is, and I don't know why-none of them will start back up after being fully warmed up without first turning the choke on...? is it because they are tuned to be so lean for fuel economy and emissions- and turning the choke on riches it up temperarly for start-up?
About a month or so ago my son and I watched RedBeard'sGarage on youtube - and then watched CarsandCameras when they took the mini bike trips in (Colorado I think)...it was so beautiful....we just moved to Iowa from Florida and Colorado isn't that far away- we will be planning one of those mini bike trips out that way soon...even the wife is on board! I am a very lucky guy...
I too am considering a Mikuni carb with an engine plate and inverted intake- and to re-locate the gas tank. I like the shape of the fake tank-I would like to find a real tank that same shape but don't want to spend a fortune on it. I also bought my 9 yo son a MM105. I have visions of the family going mudding in/on the trails this summer!
I also bought a Monster Moto 212 with a CVT- this thing's engine is much stronger, sounds better and the sprocket is larger-much better holeshot. I believe it is a Lifan engine....I believe the sprocket is 52 teeth?
Top end of the TM for me is plenty- it just has no holeshot...I'd like to pull the front tire off the ground-and not be labored going up a hill-I'm 245lbs. Once I install the 60T sprocket, I am sure it will steal from the top end-I just don't know how much. I really need to take the GPS with me to see what the top speed is-although it feels like I am flying...I'm new to the bike scene...
