I am swaping the motor from a 3.5hp(tecumseh flathed) to a 212 predator motor. i notice once i got the 212 on the bike that the torque convertor that was on the 3.5hp would not work with this motor. So now im stuck between just put a clutch on the 212 and run it that way or i have a 5hp briggs...

Hey guys I'm looking for a Briggs flathead 5hp I/C motor with a dual ball bearing crank and side cover. It doesn't have to be complete, as long as it has the stock air shroud, and most of the motor parts are there, head, sidecover, and crank.

I'm looking for a billet after market head for a Briggs 5hp Flathead. Anybody got one for sale ? Or know where I can get one ?

Anyone ever come across these? Do they make a good minibike motor? I've come across two of them. Not sure I should bother... Looks like 80's motors. They are flathead style. Like a Briggs or Tecumseh in outward appearance. They come from big fans. If they are particularly good runners...

Looking for the Tecumseh Motorsports decal for Flathead and the OHV engines. The Red and white on a black background, various sizes. Found a couple of dealers on line but not available. Anybody know where to get them or have some to sell, let me know what you got and how much. Thanks

I have a 130202 5hp briggs flathead that has no governor.It runs great when testing on a stand The only problem is it keeps shearing the flywheel key when its put on the mini bike ( Ruttman) there is no bind at all it takes off fine but then a backfire and I know the key is sheared. So with the importance of not over revving our mini bike engines, does anyone make a simple affordable tachometer system for the old briggs flatheads? I would think that for safety reasons (those removing governors) a tach would be an invaluable item.

Has anyone here put a 5hp Briggs in a mbx10? I have a nice 5hp I/C that I'd like to put in rolling chassis. If it doesn't work than I figure I can go with the predator but I would prefer the flathead. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

Hello, I have looked around the web for performance parts for an 8HP briggs, it's a 190400 model. I am mostly interested in a stonger connecting rod and flywheel but it seems Billet only makes those for the 5HP briggs. Am I incorrect with that assumption? Could anyone here point me to a place...
