hi, just got an early 70's sears roper to restore, would like to put a predator engine on with the chain going straight to back sprocket , dont think it ever had a jackshaft, anyone know for sure? thanks

I have a question about these forks, they move front to back a tiny bit from where the springs connect to the forks, the only thing holding these on are the metal tabs holding onto the springs, is that safe? can i put a tiny bead of welds on the ends just for safety

I know its a Roper but was wondering what year or if the chrome version called something else. I know wrong forks. But the frame is nice and straight.
