Powder Coated Long Block

#1
Thought I'd show off my long block assembly I just got done powder coating for my second Baja. I used a Matte Black powder and masked off all the matting areas before spraying. 15 minutes at 375 and this is the result... I'm really happy... :)

I'm hopefully have everything back together on the top end for a test fire by this weekend. :scooter:

will do, that's kind of why I wanted to try it, but I see PC being used on other engine applications so why not...

none the less, it will look good for a while... lol..

that's what I always wondered, if paint did so well on engines, surely powder coat would be ok... only place i would be worried about is the exhaust port area, other than that, I expect it to hold up well.

Just an update, I have the bike about 90% rebuilt, just finished my header and cranked her up... looks good and sounds good.. so far, after about 25 minutes of run time, no problems...

I haven't decided what color to powdercoat the flywheel cover/pull rope... I thought about Chrome or maybe just painting it with the header paint...
