Do you think that putting a band brake on the clutch would work? I don't have any brakes on my bikes and well, I kinda need them! :doah: thanks!

I have a clutch on my Tecumseh that measures 'really close to' 4.25in across. I want to buy a band break. However OldMiniBikes.com only sells 4, 4 3/16 or 4 1/2 I was going to order the 4 3/16 one.. 4-3/16" Brake band with bracket - Manco Part #1036 Any thoughts?

What size band brake do I need for a 5/8" max torque clutch? I see there are a few sizes available in the OldMiniBikes warehouse (4, 4 3/16, 4 1/2). The overall diameter of the clutch is 4 1/4". Thanks Greg
