Hi All!
New to this forum. I have a couple of KO edition Honda QA50s that I want to make the logo bands around tank like new. Does anyone know of some one who does a good job on these? It seems hard to do and finding NOS ones impossible.
Help?
Thx!
Has anybody tried adapting https://www.OldMiniBikes.com/4-1-2-Brake-Assembly-w-Steel-Anchor-Backing-Plate-5-8-Bore.html to a MW/Gilson Band Brake hub? The ID of the hub is 4.5" and the model referenced is 4.5". Just wondering if this might solve the lack of parts for an original band brake...
Dies anyone know what size set screw goes into the cable stop bit that comes with the kit? Last two kits i bought there was nothing in it. Wanna get one on the way home.
So i am sitting here on December 11 with my sons X-Mas present almost done when I question myself on the attachment of the newly purchased rear wheel band brake set up. I start pouring over threads and come across "gilson restomod" and I panic....

Does any one out there have or know where I can get a Rear Wheel Band Brake Bracket for a Trail Horse. Currently have one mounted on the Motor/Clutch but would like to have i mounted on the rear wheel.
As stated I'm selling an MTD Rambler or ss300 right hand mount brake bracket and used brake band with a new 7/8" brake lever.
If your MTD minibike has the jackshaft bracket and TAV the brake will not work so it must have the flat engine plate and the rear wheel driven from the PTO or left...
I put a small NORAM clutch on a 1960 Lauson Tecumseh and I think its a 3 inch or 3. 5 diameter hub. The band that comes with the brake kit is pretty big by comparison but it looks like it could work if wrapped around enough before you tighten the cable stop. Anyone do this or should I just get...

My question though is what is the depth of a standard 4" bolt on drum like the one from OldMiniBikes? I only have so much room between...
In the process of building up a Trail Horse mini and I'm deciding between a clutch band brake setup or a sprocket caliper.
Is there any adverse affects of a clutch band? Maybe regarding the temperature and overall lifespan of the clutch?
Please keep in mind that my motor is going to be a...
