having trouble getting the bowl to come off the carburetor, i assume its just gummed up around the bowl itself, any recommendations?

I finally got around the installing my Robin engine in my db30, fits perfect. But my throttle set up runs sideways to the length of the bike. So I need some type of right hand (90 deg.) throttle set up. Anyhone have any Ideas ? Thanks, David.
